Try it, Harrison, and you'll be hooked ;-) I don't depend on the M8 
(or any other one camera), always carrying my 5D, too, but I love my 
M8 and have had no mechanical or electronic problems with it.  I'm 
currently using the loaner M8 from Leica while mine is being 
updated.  This loaner has obviously been well-used - probably loaned 
out many times at Leica events and used by many people.  It has no 
problems at all.  Imagine combining all of the reasons you use a 
rangefinder with all of the reasons you use digital - that's the M8 ;-)
