I have found since I had an M8 that my summilux is sharper wide open  
than I had thought but needs the focus adjusting. I suppose I could  
have noticed it using film, but I didn't - digital makes it so much  
more obvious.
Do your test pictures allow the focus accuracy of the newer one you  
have found to be checked?
