Hi Luggers,
As you know I'm retired and so have time for experiments. I have
downloaded the M8 firmware update and borrowed a coded standard (not
wide) Tri Elmar (thank you Ray). I have a Heliopan IR cut filter and
this morning I have taken four pictures in the following
combinations. Here are the details in the order they come up in the
Leica Gallery:

4. Lens detection on setting at UV / IR (this is an additional
setting with the new firmware - before you just had Lens detection on
or off). IR filter on lens. shutter speed 1/500 f8.0 28mm ISO 160

3. Lens detection on but not UV /IR setting. IR filter on lens 1/500
f8.0 28mm

2. Lens detection on but no IR filter on lens 1/750 f 8.0 28mm

1. Lens detection off no IR filter on lens. 1/750 f8.0 28mm

All four pictures were taken at ISO 160 - shot in DNR and developed
in CS2 . Details in the picture summaries. I used the 28mm setting of
the Tri Elmar reasoning that corner correction (if any) would be
greater with the wide angle view.
Interestingly the shutter speed was 1/750 without the IR filter and
it fell to 1/500 when the IR filter was put on.

Do you see any differences?

Cheers
