The body of the aircraft is not black, but is an olive drab, roughly the colour of a dark green olive, so isn't rendered as black. The light from the glass window was very bright and lit the plane as far down the fuselage as is shown in the shot. In addition I deliberately lightened the image to give a greater sense of detail. It was shipped up as a jpg with Grey Gamma 2.2. Anybody else have this problem?
