Under more controlled conditions, I'd have had it on a tripod. ======================================== Jeffery if you just want to check focus shift (not accuracy) you can still used the ruler-at-an-angle setup, with the M8 on a tripod. Focus at some arbitrary point on the ruler and then go through the apertures without changing the focus. If the sharpest point on the ruler doesn't change with aperture you don't have focus shift. Your RF may still be off but that's irrelevant in a focus shift test. You can do this with SLRs too.
