The sensor on the M8 has more dynamic range than the one in the 14n but does not have any highlight recovery that I can find. So, the usual rules apply in terms of keeping the histogram from hitting the right side. In all fairness to the system, most of the time only specular highlights cause problems but your metering may vary. In terms of complete disclosure; I almost always have a -1/3 exp. comp dialed in. Also, for fun I shot some images this last week with -2 stops of exposure and Light Room brought the overly dark images back beautifully. The 50 Nikkor if it is the Sonnar knock off will have some pretty strong focus shift going from 2 to 5.6 but within dof or at least my real Sonnar does. I think that this will not be a problem as both design teams were pretty good about balancing lens performance. Yes, my 75 Summilux needs to be adjusted, on my M8 it is focusing six or seven inches behind at a five to six foot focusing range. Truly strange as the lens is perfect on film cameras and only a Nikkor 135 LTM has similar issues on the M8 On 4/1/07, Dante Stella <dstella1@ameritech.net> wrote: > > > Ok, having decided that the M8 project is not coming out of pocket, I > have offed a Fuji MF camera, 3 superspeed Nikon primes, one midrange > Nikon zoom, and 73 miscellaneous items.
