When I asked the patriots to hand-inspect my Leica CL in Seattle, they refused with extreme prejudice and ran it and my film through the x-ray machine several times. Fog. It was there. When I kept my mouth shut and just let them x-tay my Rolleiflex GX, they couldn't figure out what it was. Rather than just zipping it through and hand-inspecting, they left it on the cooker for about 45 seconds and then called someone over to look at it. It was frying the entire time. They finally did pull my bag apart after the GX had been x-rayed for a good 2 minutes. Fogged.<<<< Jeffery mon ami, Well we who travel a fair amount know the mental midgets we entrust our lives to do not have two microns of common sense between them. It is unfortunate that these situations occur. However I've found in most cases if you simply keep your mouth shut, put the bag on belt and stand back, fingers crossed out of sight. A quick under your breath prayer, one comes through the screening un-scathed. NOT ALWAYS! :-( But it's always best to assume you will be dealing with the Neanderthals of the nation for super minimum wages.... please note: not really their fault! But that of the security service providing the government office responsible for the cheapest contract possible for the so called "best?" protection service possible. If you detect a note of sarcasm, sorry I didn't mean to let it slip in. Quite frankly I don't think it matters what country one is from either! However we basically live or die on the abilities of these people, so always say a prayer before you're airborne! Other wise bend over and kiss yer butt good bye! ;-) Hey common on, if you get serious about all this stuff you wont ever leave your front yard or comfortable condo! :-) ted
