A barbarism, sir.  You should have stated that, 
"[T]he quotation is a separate issue."  Quote and 
Quotation are two different ords and ought to be used properly.  Shame on 
you!

And I am really surprised that Jerry hasn't 
coughed up the answer to the puzzle of who wrote, 
"Hark!  The Herald Axles Swing!" as Jerry once 
stated that he had known that worthy.  I did not 
know the fellow face-to-face, though we did correspond, back in the Longago.
