?I am experimenting with Lightroom on a PC platform. Can
somebody
please tell me how the hell I save the changes I make to an
image?

Aperture & Lightroom work with a newish concept called non
destructive editing

In theroy & in pratice I have found it saves file space ...

Basicly , after backing up you original files ! some ware
else ... !

You can import images into lightroom & have multiple
settings saved in develop history ...

All of the changes you have made to the image are saved as
presets in the history see the Develop module - right hand
panel - bottom column ... so then you can export the final
image with the correct setting of the moment ...

In version 1.0 of lightroom there might be a mutiple
versions setting but I haven't found it as of yet ....
