If you can hack the bulk of it and the leather bellows, used Mamiya TLRs are
pretty cheap these days. But I think the best choice if price is truly a
major factor is a Rolleiflex MX-EVS. The price is lower than an E or an F
because of the Tessar lens, but the build is sturdier than a Rolleicord, and
it doesn't have plastic parts a la Rolleiflex T. I think the average price
for a good specimen is probably around $400.

Used one while my Rollei was being fixed. I sold it to a Japanese tourist
later on. Lens was not too bad, not Rollei but still a 
good starter MF kit.

A YashicaMat may be a better buy.
