Seems silly to not want a Noct just because there would be occasions where
you'd need to stop down.
Works great stopped down!
Not the real point of the lens. But it would have to have these
capabilities.

There had been some question on the lug years ago about it not being Viable
stopped down. The rez tests are a notch down from other lenses.
But when I got mine I shot with nothing but it for months
At one point taking it for a day hike back from Mt. Tabor Portland to my
house in NW Portland. Walked many miles and shot many rolls.
Some of those shots came out real well and they were my entry in the LHSA
slide show they have at the annual meeting where everybody sends in there
slides and you see everyone's slides. One of my favorite things about the
meetings one certainly of my favorite slide shows.

Well some of my f16 at high noon Noct slides projected on the screen as big
as your house with Leica glass and they sure didn't look less sharp than
anyone else's in any way anybody could tell.

F 1000th of a second and be there.

It turns out.

A shame the M7 does not have shutter priority. I shudder to think about it.
As THAT, not f1 is what you turn out doing lots of times with the Noct.
You are wanting the widest opening possible.
But its not going to be f1.
So you set it at the fastest shudder speed and pray for f1.
Keep trying to find the dark side! Get into your dark side of things!

Now with the M8 with a much higher shutter speed the whole things seems more
viable and fun.
