Doug,
I am aware that there is a market for Leica apart from this list, but if you
read the replies to my trying to decode Leica's marketing strategy - that is
to whom Leica themselves are trying to sell the M8 - you would not think so.
The normal reply is "You dont know what you are talking about because I have
bought/am about to buy an M8".

Whatever you say about second hand, it cannot be good for the parent
company. Once upon a time, prices and supply would have been stable, because
the reach of a seller would be his neighborhood shop or a camera fair. In
recent times, thanks to the internet, the whole world is the marketplace
instead of the neighborhood shop, and pricing becomes more efficient - all
secondhand prices are falling due to global, rather than local, demand and
supply, and that goes for Leica as well. It has been far more destructive
for other film equipment manufacturing companies, though.

Cheers

Jayanand
