Speaking of curmudgeons, I don't think I could ever have a digital as my
with-me-all-the-time camera. It just doesn't have the gravitas of film; I
wouldn't feel like I'm getting a real picture, just a (admittedly
incredible) simulation. As I think you said once, that piece of film was
THERE, on the scene, and that is special to me.

I used my digital ELPH a lot after I first bought it, but now I hardly ever
touch it, or look at the stuff I took with it. It seems a lot of bother to
have to boot up a computer to view images; even if I haven't been able to
make prints, I can get enjoyment looking at the proof sheets or flipping
through slide sleeves.
