i'm always surprised that rolex lost the built-in product placement
fleming provided in those 007 thrillers.  as a 13 year old who'd
never seen anything in real life other than a timex or seiko, "rolex 
oyster perpetual" had name value for me.  i'm pretty sure connery 
used the rolex during his tenure.  moore switched to various 
electronic vulgarities during his term.

in *casino royale* the new sponsorship makes itself quite explicit 
when bond's partner vesper casually remarks that he would predicatably 
wear a rolex, to which he  replies, no actually, "omEEga."
