After calibrating the monitor with the Spyder, prints from a known
calibrated printer (the LightJet used by West Coast Imaging, which I
believe was Calypso's LightJet) were much too dark and contrasty.

My procedure now is to do a rough calibration using only Adobe Gamma,
adjust the file in Photoshop the way I want it, then send the file to a lab
with a calibrated printer. Once I get the print back I open the file in
Photoshop, open Adobe Gamma at the same time, then adjust the monitor's
calibration (with Adobe Gamma) to make the PS image of the file look like
the print. Assuming the initial calibration isn't quite right, I can then
tweak the photo the way I want it with Photoshop.
