Precisely..... 

Use a tripod, try the 2 lenses out.  It would be best if they were the 21 
ASPH or something similar..... 

Maybe 2 users can get together to make this happen....  If each owned a 
lens, then the comparison could be made.

Until an independent source makes the tests, the answer can not be 
determined... The marketing hype ( Lecia speak for smoke and
mirrors) is just too tight.....

since people have apparently heard 
different things from different Leica sources. I think the jury is out 
on this one until someone puts an M8 on a tripod, takes a coded and 
uncoded identical lens and does some testing.
