I hadn't encountered Epoisses until earlier this year - what a delight!

Here I think work crews are made of sterner stuff; the only thing I fear
driving people away with the scent of is one of the true sensual
pleasures in this life, a little round hunk of Epoisses.

A little round wooden box containing a properly ripe and
room-temperature morsel of runny and delicious cheese, a loaf or two of
good bread, a good bottle of wine... I'm so fortunate that my
girlfriend and I share a love of this treat, or it could get pretty
antisocial. Once I brought some of this cheese to a place I was working
as a special treat. The population of the office parted like the red
sea, about a third clustered around the cheese and bread, the other two
thirds backed up against the opposite wall with the windows open.

I decided not to opress that suffering two-thirds again, but it was an
interesting phenomenon.
