Subject: [Leica] Who needs a M8 when you have a Nikon D200?

Richard,

The D200 is like the F3HP. It's a camera I very much like, but will
never fall in love with. I own Nikon because it's functional. But I
don't have the passion for it that I do for Leica.

I never was really anticipating a digital M. But now that it's here I
very much want one. IMHO, when it comes to lens signatures Leica is
"John Hancock". Everything else is chicken scratch. :-)

Very nice photograph, btw. If I were the groom I might be a little
nervous, though. I can almost hear her whisper, "After we're married if
you ever think about spending that much money on a camera just remember
this name.....Joey Buttafuco!"

So I got tired of all these talks about the barely functional M8 and
picked
up a real camera, a Nikon D200 with the legendary 50/1.4 AIS lens. With
a
1.5 crop factor, it makes a nice portrait lens:

classic signature of the lens quite clearly.
