There has been a surge in Toyo cameras for event work. Some even claim
they've dropped their digital gear for just a Toyo and a 135mm lens. Instead
of taking 1,000 images at one event, they give the client 10 4x5 Polaroids
and then they're off to the next assignment.

i see this all the time and nobody's ever said what exactly it is that "fine
art shooters" are doing with a leica that they can't do with digital. who
are these "fine art shooters" and what are they shooting? most of the photo
MFA's i've seen are out there shooting birthday parties with toyo view
cameras. and grizzled auto mechanics perched on street corners.

maybe i'm not reading the right magazines.
