Bart...  During the episode I described I got bit 30-50 times at once  
(maybe more), and lost consciousness for a while...  likely because  
of hypotension.

It didn't kill me, but might have if I had fallen where I was exposed  
to more bites...

it was likely a toxic reaction rather than anaphylaxis...  and it was  
rare... I have not heard of others here, who have had this happen,   
though it is occasionally reported in the medical literature...

though I'm an MD and a victim of this... I have syringes full of  
epinephrine just in case, but I'm not sure I could find them quickly  
if I really needed to...
