My own solution is pretty much all of the above depending on how I feel about it. When I have the photo blahs I am also highly vulnerable to buying new gear - something nobody suggested. You all must have everything you want, you lucky devils. :-) Fortunately the M8 is out of my price range - at least at the moment.
