Subject: [Leica] DIY Slide Viewers

I have made a slide viewer myself. It really is not so easy, and to do a
job that is professional, and done right, and looks good
in your den/office/living room is not cheap.

Some of the factors.... you are leaning on the glass..... Do you want it to
break and cut you? You must use tempered glass. Try
going to Home Despot and asking for tempered glass...... ( Tempered glass
is treated for heat after cutting.) You need to get the
precise dimensions you want and have a glass shop have the tempering done
for you.

You want daylight balanced bulbs.... Those sold of the purpose are a small
fortune. Buy daylight balanced bulbs at your local Home
Despot. 5000K is what you want. Cost? Around a few bucks to $10 each.

To be honest, there are a myriad of other problems, light diffusion,
fixtures, wiring, reflectors, etc. Too much trouble for the
average Joe Photo.

Go out and treat yourself to a nice Hall slide box. It will set you back
around $100 ( less on Ebay used) and get on with life.....

Unless you like projects that will challenge your woodworking abilities.
