No,
I've seen RD-1s enough, Tom A put the first one in my hands last photokina.
I do 'know my onions', I'm editor of the Leica Society magazine here in the 
UK.

Whereas the RD-1s are black this was silver, and rather shiny silver at 
that, in fact it would surprise me if part of the baseplate was plastic, 
especially that door.
