I broke every small screwdriver trying to get the philips head screws out.

In all honesty I had mine apart several times before giving it the coup 
de gras...Broke the ribbon cable loose and fixed it. Strangely enough, 
they seemed quite oblivious to tinkering but finally gave in to my 
clumsiness. :-)
