"Gas" in the UK (we call it petrol) is now the equivalent of $8 per gallon
(?1 per litre).

I still have no option for mass transit (public transport) as my daily
commute to work would take roughly three hours by bus rather than 20 minutes
by car and would actually cost me more money. There's no railroad (railway)
that does the same route as a lot of the local rail system was closed down
about 30 years ago through lack of use.

So to go back to the original question, whatever the price of gas goes up
to, I have very little option but to continue buying it. I could reduce my
usage by buying a more fuel efficient car, and the Toyota Prius and Honda
Civic IMA are looking very tempting at the moment...

Simon.
