There's no railroad (railway) that does the same route as a lot of the local rail system was closed down about 30 years ago through lack of use. So to go back to the original question, whatever the price of gas goes up to, I have very little option but to continue buying it. I could reduce my usage by buying a more fuel efficient car, and the Toyota Prius and Honda Civic IMA are looking very tempting at the moment... Simon.
