Ted,
I'm far more pessimistic. I believe it is well understood but summarily
rejected as a result of waves of distortion and delusion regarding wealth
and power. Especially from a liberal pre-capitalist perspective (those of
the original framers of the US constitution) where controlling the thoughts
and actions of the masses is believed to be the essence of a stable
democracy. Add in the modern propaganda that corporations act as the
benefactors for the masses and already there is enough distortion to
justify the most obvious scams to an accommodating people. The only
question anyone asks is "How can WE enrich ourselves at someone else's
expense" The beauty of corporate PR is they convince the someone else's
that they are the we's!
