The shade is sold separately, and while it's nicely made milled (term?) metal and rectangular, with such a wide lens, the protection is what it is. You'll need an M mount adapter, but any generic cheapo adapter will do (no frame line issues involved). Anyway, the CV 21/4 along with the CV 50/1.5 are some great lens bargains in Leica mount land, IMHO.
