thanks for the tip, ken.  i just got back with 18 rolls of kodak  
400UC for $3.98/roll.  it's $4.89 and B&H and  $6.39 at my local  
photo shop.

the didn't have any of the chromogenic BW stuff.  i was actually  
hoping for some.  i bought a bulk pack of ilford XP2 several months  
ago for several reasons: it was significantly cheaper than the kodak  
version, and i was kind of hoping to "support" ilford in hopes they  
might survive the on-going film die-out, but i'm just really not  
happy with the results i'm getting with the XP2 in my scanner.  if i  
scan in RGB mode the images are PINK--bright pink--and in grayscale  
they are really flat.  the kodak stuff was always much closer to what  
i wanted in the original scan, so i plan on switching back.
