[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I have a 203FE. Love the features of the camera, as it has a center weighted metering system. I chose not to buy the 205 because I am not skilled at using a spot meter. Otherwise, I understand the two are identical. I had a 2000 series Hasselblad with the metal shutter, and sold it quickly because the metal shutter is much much louder than the cloth shutter of the 203/205. Only one malfunction encountered with my 203, which causes me concern with the continuation of support on the 203/205 series; the camera stopped working at my sister-in-law's wedding. My SL2 saved the day, but I really wanted to shoot the wedding in 6x6. To this day, I don't know why it malfunctioned. I took the 203 home, did a cursory examination of the insides, decided very quickly that I could not and would not attempt to diagnose what was wrong, and reassembled the camera. From then on, it has worked. My discovery was that in N.America, only one facility is qualified to work on the camera - Hasselblad USA in New Jersey. I live in Canada, and even the Canadian distributor ends up sending their 203/205's to the USA mothership. But other than my concern for longevity of electronics and continuation of support, I love the camera for its ease of use. Which one, problems etc. Please help: private mail may be better unless other wish to hear. Thanks to any 200 series users for advise, I'm hoping to update my 2000FCM.
