I look at the film, if it looks cool, then it works, why ask why or how! ;-) When I asked Leica technical guys about playing with bits and pieces as in locking the 1.4 and 2X on at the same time they recommended I not do it. Then I told them I'd already done it and it worked beautifully, that ended the conversation. :-) Sometimes you just gotta fly it on yer own! :-) If something breaks? Oh well back to the drawing board, fix it and do it again! Otherwise you never learn anything magical in photography or handling your gear. When I used the 400mm & 560 Telyts I used the close focus tube for many things to create entirely different pictures compared to anyone else unless they were shooting with the same set-up. Some of the pictures in my book "Men of the Saddle" are shot with the 560 and macro tube. Great separating arrangement from beautiful washes of colour backgrounds to sharp blades of grass and alfalfa! Particularly when you use backlight and grass stocks are dew drop covered! Like they say, "COOL!" ;-) ted Ted Grant Photography Limited 1817 Feltham Road Victoria BC V8N 2A4 250-477-2156
