Its probably true. Here in Switzerland, which used to be a mac bastion, even
print publishing and advertising companies are switching to the pc world in
a row;for instance the 3 big local newspapers (only their photog could keep
their powerbooks). An exception is Migros, the national leading chain store,
which has it's complete IT system including logistics on Macs. And in the
past years, I noticed more, especially young people, having a mac for their
private use at home. Could have to do with the fashionable iPod.

I prefer macs for my family members (kids, wife, mother) as the mac user
interface is easier to understand for technical laypersons, but for my
professional use I switched years ago for two reasons:

- As webdesigner, I want to see my websites like 98% of my clients and
website visitors do.
- The price, the price, the price... A few weeks ago, I bought a new hi-end
pc workstation, "fully loaded", plus two 20" LCD monitors. The price for all
together was 75% of a top-of-the-line Apple Dual G5 workstation only (which
would have a slower processor, much less RAM, slower graphic, slower
frontside bus, less L2 cache, less extension slots, cheaper soundcard).

I prefer to spend my money on Leica gear ;-)...
Didier
