When it comes to the mechanical lenses from Leica, it's very safe to
buy used.
In particular when one shops on the list.
But when it comes to auto-focus lens I buy new.
Of the the two auto-focus lenses I bought used, one went for an
overhaul to the tune of $350+.
It was still still well below the new price, but what a waste of time
dealing with it.
My last Leica lens CLA from John went for $125. These days that can
be the cost of a filter, or a hood, so it's fairly tolerable.
