Actually, the quote is from Groucho Marx, but it was to the New York Daily
News. The quote came about because for many years Groucho lived along the
golf course owned and operated by the New York Athletic Club. He had tried
to join the club a couple of times, but was always denied membership because
he was Jewish. Finally, after many years, the club relented and offered
Groucho a membership, and Groucho responded with the noted reply. You can
find the whole story in Richard Anondile's (sp?) biography.

Steven.
