Around 8Mb/sec is the top speed achieved. Also note that in most cases, the fastest cards are the somewhat smaller sizes, ie 2Gb cards are almost always slower than 1Gb cards; again not a big or probably noticeable difference but on the same order as the difference between the Extreme III and the Ultra II. The differences between these cards can well become important at some time, but that does not seem to be the case at present. If the DMR bogs down to write out the data after 10 shots at 2fps, then I don't think the write speed of the camera to the cards is going to be sufficient to allow the theoretically faster speeds of the Extreme III or the Ridata to shine. -- * Henning J.
