Subject: [Leica] Leica M3 -- all or nothing

I had a similar incident last week with my CL. Finished the roll, pushed in
the rewind release button, and cranked away with the bottom-mounted crank.
When I felt no tension I decided that I somehow hadn't engaged the film at
the start of the roll. Opened the camera and there was the bare-naked roll,
all outside of the canister, and now exposed to daylight. Then it hit me:
on the CL you turn the rewind crank COUNTER-clockwise when you rewind. I
was turning it clockwise (like on ALL my other cameras.) My only
consolation is that I only got the CL recently and haven't used it a lot.
Fortunately all I lost was some unimportant party shots.

On a Nikon digital camera I once removed the memory card with the camera
turned on. Lost all the images.
