Hey, you are probably right.. but how much will it cost and how much time
will you spend screwing around for your CF card to be returned? What did
the card sell for, maybe $50? Great, you spend 2 days in court and $5,000
on a lawyer to get back your $50 card. Great return on investment. ( Yes,
I know the old story that it is not the cost, it is the principle of the
thing....)

So you got caught doing maybe nothing, maybe something.... exactly what law
did you break? Your email has no references to a reputed law offense.....

And, since you brought it up, what ethnic Asian group are you a part of? (
just so we can put this in context...)

Unless they're arresting you, they don't have the ability to keep the
CF card. Your lawyer should be able to get it back for you. I would
also protest the fine by going to court. You have the right to your
day in court. Just like speeding tickets, you're innocent until
proved guilty or until you pay the fine.
