Desktop-free since 1989...when I purchased a Mac Portable. 16.8lbs of lead
acid battery driven TFT screen bliss...

Laptops, Macs, Panasonic ToughBooks and most Sony Vaios have proven quite
durable...

ALL portables, laptops, or whatever you call them are made to a very
different reliability standard than desk tops. They use more fragile PCB,
drives, and fans that are insufficient to cool the things. They just are
not as reliable, and the fact that you carry them from place to place makes
them even less reliable.

Did you know that most laptops are made by a few Taiwanese companies, and
private labeled?

Buy a desktop if you have the opportunity, buy a laptop if you must, and I
do mean MUST.
