Joseph,

No...I have visited Tokyo twice in 1994, never Hong Kong. But Zurich is 
a much smaller city--700,000 or something like that. And yet there 
are/were at least 5-6 shops around the city where you could walk in and 
buy Leica stuff. Not everything everywhere, for sure, but certainly an 
M7 with a 35mm or 50mm lens.
