Mercedes-Benz IS competitive in the prestige car market, although they have lost much of their premier position in recent years. But they certainly have increased the price of their top flight cars to maintain prestige while, at the same time, introducing lower priced models to keep up sales volume. But Leica has nothing to compete with in the upscale digital market and their film cameras are facing increased pressure from other manufacturers. Leica's best survival strategy may be to become a niche player, the Tiffanys of the camera industry. "It costs more but ----" Larry Z
