If you're going to use straps the only way to fly in my very strong not so humble opinion is Domke. You wrap them around your hand and it makes the cameras stick to your hand better. Nothing gets caught on nothing. This is a one inch Domke in black which I use on my Leicas. I have a "blonde" neckpiece for my chrome body. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&s ku=16174&is=REG You can mix and match. They are the most ultimately functional and classy strap I'd ever use. Those foamy op/techs and worse drive me crazy except for some Hassy shooting is use a real thick one and it makes my camera lighter. They sure don't wrap around your wrist but for waist level shooting you want it on your neck to help you take the picture. They makes a 1.5 inch Domke neck part for bigger heavier cameras and that makes it hard to warp the strap around your wrist but you can still do it if you've got big hands like me. You can mix and match. Not the same as the op/tech for real heavy load though. I was thinking about trying out a Fog Xylophone. http://www.foggspecialistbags.com/xylophone.htm And dropping my camera in there again strapless. I agree most camera accidents come from the straps. Hanging off tables. Getting caught on stuff. They are almost accidents waiting to happen and they increase the visibly of your street shooting profile by twice from what I can tell. I think your eye sees the straps and they lead you right to the camera. Then you think: "that guys got a camera!" Mark Rabiner Photography Portland Oregon http://rabinergroup.com/
