I'm not certain where you are but in the Altamont Pass area - actually
a bit south of the windfarm - there is what I believe to be the
largest nesting area of golden eagles in the United States. Between
the open hills and the numbers of ground squirrels it's a perfect
hunting location.

Doug can probably tell you better.
