No, I don't think you can save your work in DNG. You can save the final 
result of your work, but not all of your work. If you goofed somewhere 
along the line, it's all over. You have to start over.

I doubt that Adobe _wants_ us to save our work that way. They want our 
cameras to do it, to make it easier for them to get their grubby little 
claws on it and lock it into their own system.

Tongue in cheek. I think they do a fine job. I just think their 
criticism of Nikon was not a little hypocritical.
