The 60 macro lenses are both superb so a wash on that score. As to the 85 vs. the 80 Summilux, they have different signatures but neither is "better". I believe that the Summilux is more flare resistant but is possibly not as crisp in the center at 1.4. In the M system the 75 Summilux is a stunningly good lens, easily the equal of the 85 you currently have. So, in the M system, the 24, 50, 90 would give you the best optics as long as you stayed with current lenses. Substitute the 28 or 35ASPH or the 75 Summicron or Summilux to taste. In the R system, the 24 is comparable to the 25, the 60 and 80 are essentially a wash. So if you have concerns about reparability down the road for the Contax system a switch either way is not too bad. Personally, I would acquire another Contax body and use it sparingly to have "just in case". If you stay with a 167 or an Aria, the shutter mechanism is a standard Copal box so those parts will not be a major problem for years to come. I have looked at M2 and M3 bodies in New Jersey and I am impressed. Over the last 25 years I have used 6x6, 6x7 and 4x5 cameras for 80 % of my photography. I also have a Contax RTS II with 25mm, 60mm and 85mm f1.4 Zeiss lenses. Do you think the latest Leica optics will be noticeably superior to the Zeiss?
