But to be perfectly honest, as incredible as that speech was, it didn't quite have the same impact at the moment that it had only a couple years later; it had been a lonnnnnng day for most people there - I left Norwalk, Conn., on the train at about 3 a.m. - it was ghastly hot and humid, and the big question of the day was whether the demonstration would come off peacefully, or turn into a massive riot.
