B.D.
Why would I be annoyed? I had picked out a more normal shot at first,
but this one called to me. Part of it is the atmosphere at Mary's
school: she and a core group of twelve or thirteen have been lifers at
her school.  This same group has been together for thirteen years now;
thirteen years of team building camping trips and class experiences to
build the kind of citizens that we all would like to live next to.

But, this group is very talented, very competitive, and very constrained
in their competition. So there is the touch of grotesque in Mary's joy
at being accepted to a great school or two. College choice is an area
of competition that is acceptable.

Another point about this image appealed to me, all of us have multiple
sides of ourselves that may or may not be visible to the outside world.
This is a side of my daughter that rarely escapes.

Don, I mean NO disrespect by what I'm about to write; I'm simply
reacting to an excellent posted image...
