Max, I hope you don't like it because they're your kids.:-) It's harsh. It's a good street photo, that definitely captures mood and moment; the mood is ugly, the moment is - harsh. I do not want to cross these kids, or cross their paths. The kids, Eric, are the center of interest, and they couldn't be better defined, because of the sharp contrast. Yes, I wish she was a bit sharper, but you can't have it all. As Buzz of Belmont quoth - "Focus and exposure are vastly over-rated." :-) -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Eric Sent: Wednesday, February 23, 2005 6:47 PM To: lug@leica-users.org Subject: [Leica] Re: Self Editing - a Question Max: >So the question is: Do I like this one because it's my kids, or >because it >captures a mood and a moment? > >http://www.leica-gallery.net/max3/image-80079.html Not knowing the kids, I'd pass on it. I don't see a well defined center of interest. The light seems harsh and unflattering. Neither the boy nor the girl appears to be sharply in focus. It doesn't convey any mood or moment to me. -- Eric http://canid.com/ _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
