Unfortunately not. We know a good number of twenties something Chinese 
American, Korean American, Filipino American, etc. in the Bay Area, and a 
number of them are suffering because of the undue expectations from 
parents, both father and mother. The Japanese Americans seem to suffer a 
little less I think because they are usually the 3rd or 4th generation 
rather than 1st or 2nd.

It is both economic security and family pride, which as you may know, 
"Face" is of utmost importance in some of these Asian cultures.
