Well, previously to have a M equipment I had a R equipment, a R3 and a R4, now I've sold it, during the years I had the R, more and more I was using my cameras in manual mode, on my experience I've failed more pictures caused for the automatic exposure than manual, for this reason I'm not enthusiastic with the M7 concept. The second point is I wan't be dependent of a pair of batteries, the mechanics M are always running! Mostly I shoot street photography, and normally when I'm on the street I'm always with my fingers on the camera modifying based on my intuition focus and time, after I correct, in my opinion more than 90% of the pictures are technically correct. I ask myself, why expend the money on a M7 if finally I'll use it in manual mode? It took me a while to get used to the AE in my M7, but now I am very comfortable with it. When the light is constant I shoot the M7 like a regular M, using a hand held meter. I do the same with my M6TTL, because I prefer the results of incident over spot metering. But when the action is fast and the light is changing quickly I switch her over in to AE. The AE is also terrific for taking a quick grab shot, when you're not certain about the exposure. All you have to concentrate on is focusing/framing/timing, the M7 takes care of the rest. With the M6, the subject would often notice me as I fiddled with the aperture/shutter speed dial. feli _______________________________________________________ feli2@earthlink.net 2 + 2 = 4 www.elanphotos.com _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
