Absolutely! Incident is best but has fallen from popularity because it 
is more difficult than the reflective built in approximations! Modern 
matrix reflective systems  reduce errors but can never be as accurate 
as simply measuring the actual light level at the subject. I suppose I 
am just stating the blindingly obvious here!
