Hello Julian. My thoughts are a little different from some of the
other advice. One key to good travel is lack of hassles. So I'm
thinking that one body and one or maybe two lenses is the way to go.
Since price is not an issue, treat yourself to a new M7 and a 50 1.4
Asph, with the second lens being a 21, 24 or 28 Asph. Take only this
equipment and have it with you all the time, with a couple of spare
rolls. Easy to carry and deal with. Use your feet for zooming! I
think an M will be better for 70 YO eyes - much easier to focus
accurately than an R camera. So much lighter, handier and cooler too!

Enjoy.

Rick Dykstra.
